Infrastructure investments

We have investments in infrastructure, emerging technologies and renewable energies that have the potential to build stronger and more connected communities.

Value for money

We’ve been recognised for value at Money magazine’s 2023 and 2024 Best of the Best Awards. We take pride in offering value and quality.

"As a fund, we understand the challenges that workers and employers in the education and community sectors face, and we deliver low-cost, high-quality products, resources, and relationships to meet these needs."

- NGS Super Chair, Geoff Newcombe

Our heritage & commitment

NGS was first established in 1988 as an industry superannuation fund for teachers in independent education. Back then, ‘NGS’ stood for ‘non-government schools’ — now, we’ve built strength and confidence in our brand as an award-winning fund and offer our benefits to all Australians.

As a member-focused fund, we value the strong partnerships we have formed with organisations and associations representing members and employers within the education and community sectors – including the Independent Education Union (IEU) and the Association of Independent Schools (AIS). These relationships have helped us strengthen our product and service offerings to better support the personal, employment and financial goals of members.

Investing in those who invest in others

Sponsorships

We support innovation and leadership in schools through awards and programs which recognise excellence. Examples include the AIS (Association of Independent Schools) Flagship Program, BCE (Brisbane Catholic Education) Excellence Awards, the Catholic Education Awards South Australia, and the Early Career Teacher Docemus Award.

We’re proud to sponsor and pay respect to the many outstanding contributions in Australian education.

Partnerships

NGS works closely with a range of industry partners, such as:

  • Association of School Business Administrators (ASBA)
  • Independent Primary School Heads of Australia (IPSHA)
  • Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia (AHISA)

Would you like to discuss your super?

It's a good idea to speak to a financial planner to help you plan for retirement and what steps you may need to take to get there. A financial planner can:

  • Discuss your goals for the short and long-term and help you reach those goals
  • Help you understand the likelihood of being able to meet your goals and how long your financial assets may last through retirement
  • Provide strategies and recommendations to assist you in maximising your entitlements

You can also speak with one of our Super Specialists. It's free, and they can answer your general questions about superannuation, investments, insurance or transition to retirement.

Seeking advice is a way to plan for your future, to mitigate risks and make the most of your saving opportunities. Education is integral to the planning process — it's important that you feel confident and informed at all times. Book your free chat with an NGS Super Specialist.
