Atmos Renewables was established in 2020, and currently owns 14 large-scale renewable energy generation assets — wind farms and solar farms — across Australia. The electricity it generates from 100% clean renewable energy sources is enough to power over 420,000 households, and it also offsets over 1.8 million tonnes of carbon emissions.
With a stated goal of contributing to the decarbonisation of Australia’s electricity network, Atmos is also committed to supporting the communities around its projects, and protecting and enhancing biodiversity.
Its community work includes:
- community grants
- support for an Aboriginal Community Fund available to the Ngadjuri and Nukunu Aboriginal Corporations
- a Volunteer Emergency Service grant
- funding of university scholarships.
Next to its Cherry Tree wind farm near Seymour in Victoria, Atmos is working to return 400 acres of land to natural habitat, by controlling weeds and non-native animals.
NGS Super has an investment in Atmos Renewables via Igneo Infrastructure Partners.
